1. Trial Runs: Trial runs typically take place during the week, so as not to conflict with weddings and other scheduled events. Trial runs for hair and makeup will last 2 hours and a single service trial runs for hair or makeup lasts roughly 1 hour. A charge of $50.00 for each additional hour beyond the scheduled time. Trial runs are a separate service from the wedding or event day and are due when trial services are rendered. If you are more than 15 minutes late for your appointment a late fee of $50.00 will be applied to the final bill. If you are 30 or more minutes late and or have not communicated with your artist or the studio the trial run can be canceled and the cancelation fee charged. Please call at least one (1) day in advance to reschedule a trial session. As most weddings take place on the weekends (Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays) trial runs that are scheduled on the weekends are scheduled after weddings in the late afternoon or evening so that time and attention are not taken away from the day of clients or brides. All weekend trial runs are subject to availability and can be changed or canceled due to a wedding conflict. A trial consists of makeup application, including airbrush and faux eyelash extensions, and one hair test. Your suggestions and ideas are welcomed and encouraged.
2. Booking Retainer: A $300.00 non-refundable retainer and non transferable it will be required to reserve the wedding date. To secure your date of services, a signed contract is required with a $300.00 retainer due at the time of signing. The retainer is non-refundable and non-transferable; however, it will apply towards the balance of your services. When we hold your date, we let all other inquiries know that we are no longer available. As well as, turn away any future inquiries.
2a. Groomsmen Retainer: If you elect to retain groomsmen services as well it is a separate service and a $300.00 non-refundable retainer will be required.
3. Gratuities: There is a gratuity of 18% billed onto the final invoice that can’t be paid separately; however, you can exceed that if you wish to do so. The industry standard begins at 22%.
4. Contracted Services and Service minimum: 6 service minimum. ex: 3 people getting both hair and makeup or a total of 6 single services hair or makeup. Because Destiny & Light reserves the date and time, and books team members and assistant(s) if necessary, the client may add but not reduce the number of services that they have reserved on the contract. As our team members are contracted for your event and are rejecting other possible appointments. The client may add additional services, upgrade add-ons, and time and location changes by way of a service addendum. Should the client have a cancelation, the client can substitute another person for services. Russian styles including the Hollywood wave are done exclusively by our certified stylists based on availability.
4a. *CANCELLATION POLICY: There are no cancellations allowed for any service(s) after a contract is signed and booking fee is submitted. In case of someone not being able to attend their scheduled service, a replacement of person may be made, but the service will remain the same/ or you will be responsible for the full amount of service(s) agreed upon this contract. Cancellations due to emergencies or unforeseen circumstances are considered on a case-by-case basis and are completely at the company’s discretion.
5. Group Rates & Standard Rates: To qualify for group rates clients are required to have 14 or more services (excluding flower girls services). The group rate is not based on a person count but rather a service count. (Ex. 14 people getting hair only equates to 14 services, or 7 people getting both hair and makeup also equates to 14 services).
6. Ready Times & Timeline: The Destiny & Light Hair and Makeup Group (also referred to as D&L) will create a timeline to end 2 hours before your ceremony time unless otherwise directed by the client. The two-hour time gap leaves the client with ample time for pre-ceremony photos and rest. D&L will work with the bride to create a schedule that is comfortable for her party as well as feasible for the team working on the wedding. The number of stylists scheduled to work the wedding will be according to the number of services requested and the ready time. D&L will not be required to schedule a desired number of stylists but will do so based on the number of services of the bride and her bridal party.
7. Additional Stylist Fee: The number of stylists sent to provide services is based on the total number of services being performed. Once a timeline is established, should the bride decide to start at a later time, she will be allowed the option to hire another stylist (upon availability) to work the wedding and will cover the cost of the additional stylist. However, should the client request an additional stylist to reduce the timeline the cost is $200.00 per additional requested stylist should additional stylists be available.
8. Additional Day Of Services: Any additional hair and makeup services needed outside the contract will only be performed at the discretion of the artist should time permit. All persons involved in hair and makeup appointments need to be available at the scheduled time of said appointments. Should a guest have hair that falls below their bra strap a long hair fee may apply as this could affect the timeline because of preparation.
9. Delays: In the event that the Bridal Party should exceed the allotted time (due to no fault of D&L) if we are required to continue services beyond your ready time the bride will be charged $60.00 per hour.
10. Relocation Fee: It is not always possible to relocate as this poses certain challenges to the timeline and experience. Setup, teardown, and allowing tools opportunity to cool for safe transport and handling. However, should we be able to accommodate the client’s request a base fee of $50.00 will be charged, and an additional travel fee may also apply.
10a. SERVICE LOCATION AND REQUIREMENTS: Please ensure the location has readily available access to electrical outlets, ample lighting, table space and working temperature control. Also make sure you can get into your venue at least by 8 AM. (This doesn’t mean that all timelines start at 8am) If we have to accommodate a shorter timeline because you cannot get into your venue at a reasonable start time (later than 8 AM) because your venue does not let you in before, there will be a extra stylist fee of $200 per extra stylist to accommodate your shorter timeline.
11. Holiday Fee: Should your wedding date, trial run, or event fall on a major holiday week (Thanksgiving & Christmas) or on a holiday i.e Memorial Day, Labor Day, Independence Day, New Year, Father’s day, Mother’s Day, and Easter Sunday) an additional service charge may be applied. Holiday fee of $100 per stylist (A $100 fee per stylist will be charged Please confirm with D&L if your date falls under the premise above.
12. Early Call Times Fee (early bird): Early Morning (a $75 fee/per artist is applicable when the stylist is required to arrive before 7:00am). Additionally for early bird weddings, if your hair and makeup schedule has to start at or before 5 am, we may require lodging at the hotel the night before the wedding. Having a 5 am start time would mean that the team would have to start their day as early as 3 am to prepare themselves for the 5 am wedding.
12a. Out of the Norm Custom Events Schedules – Should the Client request Destiny and Light to create a custom schedule for their event which falls out of the normal timeline and invoice protocol? Additional Fees may assist to protect Destiny and Light and its Artist from losses as such requests may take us out of our budgeting parameters.
12b. Example: A large Event that has 20 – 30 services needing a timeline that’s not feasible due to venue access limitations or client preference to perform services in a shorter timeframe, may require additional stylists if available, logistical support to accommodate their new time frame request. This may impact ( additional stylist fees, early bird fees, and holiday fees)
13. Unsanitary, infectious, or unsafe conditions: We reserve the right to refuse services if unsanitary conditions exist and/or contagious infections are present. The client acknowledges that they will not be entitled to a refund for any work already performed. The client agrees not to enter into defamation should the term of the contract be enforced.
